Bakala
For bakeries, cafés and shops

Turn today's leftovers into sales.

List the food you have left at the end of the day. People nearby reserve it in the Bakala app, then come to your counter and pay you directly.

How it works

Three steps for your shop.

  1. List a box in about a minute

From your shop's dashboard, add what's left: a mystery box or a discounted item, your price, how many, and when to collect.

  2. Customers reserve it in the app

People nearby see it and reserve it for free. You see every reservation as it comes in.

  3. They show a code and pay you

The customer shows their code at your counter and pays you directly, cash or card.

Your questions

What shop owners ask us first.

What does it cost?

Nothing for our early partners. No fees and no commission during the pilot.

How do I get paid?

Customers pay you directly at the counter, cash or card. Bakala never handles the money.

Who sets the price?

You do. You choose the price and how many boxes to list, and you can change them any day.

What food can I list?

Only food you'd happily sell over your own counter, always before its expiry date.

What if nobody reserves a box?

Nothing is lost. You keep the food or handle it the way you normally would.

How much time does it take?

About a minute to list, and a few seconds per pickup.

Will it affect my brand or menu prices?

No. Boxes only appear inside the Bakala app, and your menu prices stay exactly as they are.

Our first event

Dandiya Night with The Great Kabab Factory, Saar

For our first event, guests reserved food vouchers through Bakala before the night, showed their code at the counter and paid the restaurant directly.

Curious what the dashboard looks like?

Have a look at a preview. It uses example data, not a real shop's.
